One of my favorite places in Madison! I stumbled upon the bodgery a few years ago while I was looking for a place that rented out woodworking equipment. Now, I’m an instructor in the screen printing area, and have done everything from stained glass pieces to embroidery! This is truly a special place full of the most wonderful people.
A few things that make The Bodgery stand out for me as a maker space:
1. The community. Whether I have a question on a technique or need help with a project, I can always ask and find someone willing to help
2. The breadth. When I say this place has just about everything, I mean it! Crafting, 3D printers, wood shop, metal and plastic areas, CNC machines, pottery, jewelry, and more. Truly something for everyone.
3. Value. At $50 a month for 24/7 access, I don’t know how the deal could get better. The only other expenses I have a based on materials I use and some of the machines I use that require more expensive maintenance. However, compared to owning and operating everything? A steal.
I feel so lucky to have found this place, and plan to be a member as long as I live in the Madison area!

I’ve been a member for a few years since moving to Madison and this is by far the best maker space I’ve been a part of! They have so much equipment and the community has been incredibly nice and welcoming. I’ve done wood working, laser cutting, welding, etc and I really appreciate having a space like this nearby. Stop by if you have a chance!

Amazing maker space. Great community, great facilities, great price, and really competent (volunteer!) leadership. As someone with a lot of hobbies, I feel like the bodgery truly increases my quality of life – I love living in Madison, but would never be able to afford the space to have my own shop of a good size. The bodgery makes it possible for me to have both the Madison lifestyle that is important to me, and the hobbies that are important to me.
