Fired Up Pottery

experience was okay. enjoyed the glazing process and the company i had with me but that’s about it. the space gets very loud at times with a variety of sounds and conversations at once. staff are pretty standoffish. they rush through instructions and do not check in until you are paying. there’s not enough colors to choose from. the tiles they have to show you what your glaze will end up looking like seem to be inaccurate and you cannot keep them at your table, which makes it impossible to even know what color is which. prices are expensive in my opinion. overall would not recommend. i was super excited to pick up my finished piece and was immensely disappointed by the result. the colors were not what the tiles had me thinking they would be. there were so many bubbles that it looks like white patches but it’s all just bubbles. the glaze came out patchy even though i followed all instructions. will not be going back. the bathrooms were disgusting and not well maintained at all. other reviews talk about the variety of materials available but we were only shown the glaze. didn’t even know there were wheels and other supplies because they were not mentioned and not clearly visible for use. picking up my piece ruined my day. wasted 4 hours on my ANNIVERSARY to pick up the ugliest thing i’ve ever seen. if 0 stars was an option i would pick it.

I’ve been here twice and had an amazing time both visits! The staff are very good at knowing when you need help and when you’d like some space. At one point, an employee saw me having trouble picking glaze colors and spent a considerable amount of time helping me pick the perfect pallet for a gradient.

I also like the wide variety of materials they offer. There are the usual brushes most similar places have, but also writing bottles, art sponges, natural sponges, string, lace, painter’s tape, and likely a dozen other things I didn’t notice. You are free to experiment with whatever is on hand!

I recommend showing up early, or you’ll need to plan for the possibility of being put on a wait list. There are a limited number of tables offered on a first-come, first-served basis, and customers are not rushed when seated. Which is nice when you’re painting as it creates a more pleasant experience, but means the staff cannot predict when seats will open.

I can’t wait to see my own piece once it’s done, and look forward to my next visit!
